]]> The Worley Foundation recently awarded Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI) with a three-year grant to support Rising Together, Worley and GMI’s initiative aimed at providing career readiness mentorships to college students as they prepare to transition from school to their first professional jobs.

Leading global professional services company Worley partners with communities and organizations to drive lasting, sustainable change through the Worley Foundation. Championed by Worley people, the Foundation supports initiatives in STEM education, skilled volunteering, and environmental and social development.

“We are honored to be selected for this grant from the Worley Foundation,” stated Jon Browning, GMI CEO. “This partnership will help ensure that GMI’s proven mentorship program will remain available to students around the globe, empowering the next generation of leaders to build impactful and meaningful careers.”

GMI’s structured mentorships match students with a volunteer mentor who guides them through an easy-to-follow curriculum in 12 online sessions. The curriculum is designed to help them create a career plan, identify their competitive advantage as a job candidate, and excel in their careers.

 “GMI Ambassadors like Worley Foundation project champion Avin Panchorie, are instrumental in helping GMI secure this critical funding and encouraging participation,” continues Jon. “Their partnership helps ensure that our program remains free for students and that each of them can benefit from the guidance of a GMI mentor.”

GMI’s community of mentors includes over 8,500 individuals in 100+ countries, in a diverse range of fields, disciplines, and roles. In addition to Avin, over 250 Worley people across 23 countries are registered GMI mentors.

Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI) comenzará a ofrecer su programa de mentoría para preparación profesional en español, gracias al generoso apoyo de la Fundación Baker Hughes. Recientemente, la Fundación otorgó a GMI una subvención de $100,000 para apoyar el lanzamiento e implementación del nuevo programa.

“La incorporación de un programa en español representa un hito importante para GMI. Desde hace tiempo hemos reconocido la necesidad de apoyar a los estudiantes de América Latina en su idioma principal. De hecho, nuestros socios juveniles han estado solicitando mentorías en español desde hace algún tiempo”, afirma Jon Browning, CEO de GMI. “Por eso estamos tan agradecidos por la generosidad de la Fundación Baker Hughes. La subvención nos permitirá establecer el programa en español y llegar a miles de estudiantes en toda América Latina, así como a jóvenes desplazados que emigran a Estados Unidos y Canadá.”

El programa de mentoría de GMI está disponible actualmente en inglés y francés. Sigue un plan de estudios estructurado y fácil de seguir, que puede adaptarse a cada combinación única de estudiante y mentor/a. Todas las mentorías cubren el mismo contenido para garantizar un impacto medible en los estudiantes y una orientación sólida para los mentores. Este programa permite que los dúos de mentoría desarrollen afinidad de forma orgánica, fomentando una verdadera conexión humana que trasciende las diferencias.

“GMI cuenta con una comunidad comprometida de cientos de mentores recurrentes, muchos de los cuales son empleados de Baker Hughes. Están entusiasmados por involucrarse con jóvenes latinos para ayudarlos a conseguir su primer empleo”, comenta Jon. “El crecimiento de nuestra colaboración con Baker Hughes demuestra lo que es posible cuando los empleados se unen para retribuir a sus comunidades. El apoyo colectivo de los mentores de Baker Hughes y de la Fundación Baker Hughes nos acerca a lograr este objetivo tan esperado. Juntos, estamos generando un impacto transformador en la vida de la próxima generación de líderes.”

El programa de mentoría en español de GMI estará disponible en septiembre de 2025. A partir de esa fecha, los estudiantes podrán enviar su solicitud de mentoría en español y ser emparejados con un mentor hispanohablante. Todo el conjunto de materiales del programa de mentoría de GMI también estará disponible en español.
